You think you’re excited for the new Stone Sour album? You haven’t talked to Corey Taylor yet, who is absolutely over the moon while speaking about his experience working on the band’s upcoming Hydrograd album. The band recently revealed that the album would arrive in June and we should have some new music to hear shortly.

We recently spoke with Corey Taylor about the disc and he had a hard time holding back on his desire to share the music. “I’m so excited about it that if I didn’t think I’d get in f–king trouble, I’d play it for you right now, for real,” Taylor told us. “I am beyond excited. Everyone we have talked to has just been blown away by it.”

The band has a little more personal stake in seeing the response on Hydrograd this time around...

Linkin Park fans have been at ends over the band’s pop direction on One More Light as evident by the two singles “Heavy” and “Battle Symphony.” But the group has a history of exploring new musical territory and Chester Bennington has offered a detailed account of their change in style.

Speaking with RockSound, the singer explained Linkin Park’s willingness to try new things and that the band “actually started writing some really interesting pop music” before The Hunting Party. “Mike [Shinoda] was giving me litmus tests like, ‘Hey, what would you say if I said… let’s do a collaboration with Katy Perry or Kelly Clarkson?’ and I was like, ‘F–k yeah! Incubus is premiering the lyric video for its newly-released track “Nimble Bastard” exclusively on Billboard today (Feb. 17). And it’s literally fire.

While lyrics like “Has it come to this?/ We’re stuck in the weeds/ I get it, I’m not perfect/ I was never trying to be” move across the screen, a film reel slides through images of different scenes from skate parks, a studio session and even a pretty damn adorable dog. DISTURBED is hoping to enter the studio by early next year to begin recording the follow-up to 2015’s “Immortalized”. Speaking to a German media outlet on February 15 before DISTURBED’s concert in Berlin, guitarist Dan Donegan stated about the band’s plans for the coming months: “Once we’re done [touring], I think everybody is gonna unwind a bit. We’re all gonna get home and spend some time with our families. And we’ll just let it come naturally.”

He continued: “I have a bunch of ideas that I’ll record on my phone or in the dressing room, and I’ll just save some riff ideas and readdress them later at another time, once we’re all in the right headspace for it. But anytime we’ve written, it always has to just come naturally, when we all feel that we’re ready...
