Brian Johnson has recorded an audio message in support of the Swedish AC/DC fan club’s plans to stage a charity concert.

The fan club will organize a live event, dubbed “Acdcmachine Gathering”, later this year to raise funds for Alzheimer’s and/or dementia research.

The show will be held on March 17 in honor of AC/DC founder and guitarist Malcolm Young, who was forced to leave the band in 2014 because he is suffering from dementia. He has been replaced by Stevie Young, nephew of Malcolm and AC/DC guitarist Angus Young.

In his audio message, Johnson said: “I just wanna say I’m so proud of what you’re doing for the Alzheimer’s/dementia research.

“As you know, we have a wounded soldier, Malcolm, and I think what you’re doing to raise the awereness of everyone about this dreadful disease is ...

Why Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Rumours’ Hits Home Right Now

fm
Band confronted their own romantic chaos on 1977 masterpiece, asking tough questions that still resonate.

Happy birthday to Fleetwood Mac’s masterpiece Rumours, released 40 years ago this week, on February 4th, 1977. Human beings had been mating and separating for several dozen thousand years before Fleetwood Mac existed, but this band walked out of Rumours basically owning the whole concept of breaking up. The emotional trauma behind Rumours is the stuff of legend. As Lindsey Buckingham confided to Rolling Stone at the time, “Being in this band really fucks up relationships with chicks.” Buckingham split with Stevie Nicks. Christine McVie divorced the bassist and moved in with the lighting director, shifting John’s wedding ring to a different finger...

blacksabbaththeendtourwrivalsons_638

BLACK SABBATH singer Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler spoke to Express & Star about the band’s decision to call it quits after completing “The End” tour early next month.

“To come back and be friends with my buddies who I started up with all those years ago,” Ozzy said, “it’s a closure for me to have a chapter of my life which I can say, ‘Well, we came, we saw, we had a good time, and now it’s over.’ And so it’s like any relationship. I’m glad we ended up having more or less whatever has gone on between us over the years.”

Butler added that the band couldn’t carry on for much longer. “So the natural thing to do is to all agree on one last tour,” he said. “And we all agreed that there won’t be any more SABBATH after this...

Hear Strokes Bassist’s Post-Punk Single With Summer Moon

JanesAddSB
Summer Moon, featuring members of the Strokes, Jane’s Addiction and Aiborne Toxic Event, released their new post-punk single “Happenin’.”

Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture dominates the post-punk single “Happenin'” with side-project Summer Moon. “Happenin'” is the band’s second release from their debut LP, With You Tonight, out February 24th.

Fraiture explained how the song’s “chaotic, thumping” vibe previews the record’s energy. “It’s a good entry point into the other songs,” he said. “Sonically, it’s a gateway drug to the rest of the album,” with Jane’s Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins building off the propulsive bass riffs.

Summer Moon first appeared in 2015 with a SoundCloud demo for “With You Tonight,” recorded by a line-up featuring members of Au Revoir Simone (Erika Spring) and th...
