On September 15, Shabby Hasan of “In The Now Magazine” conducted an interview with vocalist Ryan McCombs of SOIL at the Aftershock festival at Discovery Park in Sacramento, California.

SOIL’s sixth studio album, “Whole”, was released on August 20 via Pavement Entertainment. It’s the band’s first 100% independent release.

“Whole” is the first SOIL album with original frontman Ryan McCombs since 2004’s “Re.De.Fine” (after which he joined Drowning Pool). It sees SOIL returning to its classic sound that fans have come to admire, with a press release calling it the CD “that could have come directly after the ‘Scars’ album in 2001.”

System OF A Down drummer John Dolmayan has revealed via Twitter that he has “started working” on a covers album. He added: “It should be good practice for the eventual System Of A Down album sometime in the future.”

At the conclusion of System Of A Down’s July 29 concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California, Dolmayan announced that the band would release a new studio album prior to the group’s next appearance in Los Angeles.

The iconic, Grammy-winning artist Slash and Myles Kennedy performed a new song, “Nothing Left To Fear”, last night (Thursday, September 26) on “Conan”, airing on TBS.

On October 4, Slash will release the soundtrack album for the first-ever motion picture he has co-produced, “Nothing Left To Fear”, via his company Slasher Films. “Nothing Left To Fear The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” will be released on October 4, exclusively at PledgeMusic.com, the same day the film opens in select theaters.

Written and produced by Slash and Nick O’Toole, the “Nothing Left To Fear” soundtrack includes the film score plus two original songs: “Nothing Left To Fear”, which features vocalist Myles Kennedy, and the instrumental “Welcome To Stull”.

Umami Burger, with locations in Oakland, San Francisco, Miami and New York City, has collaborated with legendary guitarist Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns n’ Roses) to create his own hamburger. Tattooed with a big “U” on the bun, the Slash Burger contains shiitake mushrooms, caramelized onions, American cheese, avocado spread, and wasabi aioli, served with a Parmesan cheese crisp.

KISS frontman Paul Stanley has confirmed via Twitter that his much-anticipated autobiography will be released next spring (around March/April 2014).

During an appearance on the “Sixx Sense” hosted by MÖTLEY CRÜE/SIXX: A.M. bassist Nikki Sixx last November, Stanley, 61, was asked if he has read some of the other rock and roll autobiographies out there and whether he has plans to write a book of his own.
