Adam Jones Tool

TOOL guitarist Adam Jones got married last month to artist Korin Faught in a ceremony that took place in San Francisco. Although they got hitched in July, the news was not revealed until Wednesday night (August 28), when a photo of the couple was posted on Jones’ official Facebook page with the caption “Mrs. Jones <3 July 6th 2013." A photo of the Joneses from the wedding was also posted at the guitarist's Instagram account. The couple are also expecting their first child, which Korin revealed via her own Instagram page with a picture of her baby bump and the caption "#bumpwatch." Jones proposed to Faught last January while ringside at the WWE Royal Rumble showdown in Phoenix. Just before the Royal Rumble went on the air that evening, a message appeared on the WWE's giant "titantron" video screen, saying, "Korin, Adam Jones wants to ask you something... 'Will you marry me?'" With cameras surrounding them, Jones produced a ring and waited for Korin's answer — which luckily for him was "yes." Meanwhile, drummer Danny Carey recently said that TOOL could have its first album since 2006 completed by the end of this year and in stores in 2014. Despite the long wait and slow pace of work on the record, Jones said a while back that TOOL's creative process is relatively simple. "We write this song, and then we write the next song — we don't really, like, you know, go, 'Okay, well, now we're gonna write the radio song,' or 'Now, we're gonna write this song,'" he said. "You know, we just write and then put 'em in an order that we like after we've recorded them and then get a feeling from all the songs in the group and then try to attack the propaganda of selling the record." TOOL's last album, "10,000 Days", came out in 2006. Since that time the band has toured almost every year, while singer Maynard James Keenan has tended to his Arizona vineyard business and recorded several albums with PUSCIFER.

OZZY OSBOURNE

Black Sabbath singer was making up a pork treat for himself but things went wrong as the meat sizzled in the pan, causing a blaze so bad he had to call the fire department to deal with the flames.

“I’m in London, @OfficialOzzy is in LA making a bacon sandwich last night and the fire brigade ended up at our house!!,” tweeted Sharon Osbourne.

The bacon sandwich incident is not the Osbourne family’s first brush with fire. In December of last year, Ozzy accidentally set fire to his hair while trying to put out a small blaze cause by an oil candle. Then in January, Sharon had to call in firefighters after forgetting to extinguish a candle before she went to bed which set fire to some of her furniture...

AS

The members of AVENGED SEVENFOLD have defended their musical choices, discussing the band’s newly-released sixth studio effort, “Hail To The King”, the band members stand behind their decision to make a record that sounds more like old-school heavy rock, with singer M. Shadows saying, “We wouldn’t have been happy making another “2010 album Nightmare”, we wouldn’t have been happy making a “2003 second CD Waking The Fallen”, so if you’re not happy doing it, what’s the point of releasing it?”

Shadows adds, “To me that’s the definition of a sell-out, is people that don’t write the music that they truly want to write.”

The singer said that he holds AVENGED SEVENFOLD records to very high standards...

Drummer Mike Portnoy (THE WINERY DOGS, DREAM THEATER, AVENGED SEVENFOLD, ADRENALINE MOB) was interviewed on the latest edition of former RIP magazine editor and veteran music journalist Lonn Friend’s “Energize With Lonn Friend” podcast.

Commenting on BLACK SABBATH’s decision to record and tour without original drummer Bill Ward, Portnoy said: “Here’s my issue with it. I have no issue if Bill Ward is not fit to play in SABBATH, as they’re saying. Or I have no issue with it if they’re having money litigations and problems and they couldn’t agree on something that was fair. My issue is that they’re calling it a BLACK SABBATH reunion. It’s not a BLACK SABBATH reunion without the four of them. It is now just the latest BLACK SABBATH lineup.”

The four members of METALLICA took part in a press conference prior to the band’s August 24 performance at Changi Exhibition Centre in Singapore.

On how they deal with the physical demands of touring:

Kirk Hammett (guitar): “I do a lot of yoga. We’re all pretty physical. Rob [bassist Robert Trujillo] and I like to surf. We just got off a week-long stint in Bali, surfing a lot. You know, it’s important to keep maintenance on the road — eat well, sleep well, and just make sure the engine inside is running well. It’s really important. ‘Cause the last thing I wanna do is drop on stage.”

Robert Trujillo: “You go through transitions in life, and you have to adjust, and you have to listen to your body and you have to listen to your spirit and re...

Singer Rob Halford of British heavy metal legends JUDAS PRIEST spoke about the progress of the songwriting and recording sessions for the band’s long-awaited follow-up to 2008’s “Nostradamus”.

“The writing process is complete,” he said. “Now it’s the painstaking work of making sure that you get every single note, every single nuance of the vocal, every tiny aspect…right. We’re still tracking instruments. It’s just a very laborious but enjoyable part of making the record.”

Regarding the sound of the new PRIEST material, Halford said, “It’s hard. It’s heavy. It’s something we think our PRIEST fans will be thrilled with. We know we have a reputation to maintain, and we know we have to deliver something really strong and solid...
